A growing number of area companies are participating in a local education program called “Teaching Tools For Hillsborough Schools.” A program of the Hillsborough Education Foundation, it has distributed over $4.3 million in school supplies since its inception in 2000. It currently serves 75 Title-1 schools and was created to transform financial donations and surplus materials into supplies for students in schools with a high ratio of low-income families. The program helps revive students’ enthusiasm for education in the classroom.
